This Christmas, Give the Gift of Literacy to a Child in Need!

Donate to our Christmas Appeal today and a child from a low socio-economic background will receive a Christmas gift of books this year.

It's that time of the year again and we are hosting our Christmas Book Giving Project.

This project consists of gift-wrapping new books and gifting them to underprivileged children at Christmas time. This project is our favourite tradition at Reading out of Poverty (ROOP).

Every Christmas ROOP gives away brand new books specially gift wrapped to families who are struggling to make ends meet. We aim to engage children in with the joy of reading and books. In 2019, we provided 2,500 gifts to children in need and this year we aim to provide 4,300 gifts.

Why books?

Reading is a fundamental skill for children, this practice stimulates intellectual development in kids, expands children vocabulary, helps to build independence and self-confidence, and allows children to explore the world and increase their imagination.

On Christmas, we would like to encourage you to give books to the loved kids around you but also to children less fortunate in Victoria. For them, books are considered a luxury and they simply cannot afford them.

This year, partner with us to make a difference in a child’s Christmas by donating a life changing gift of books!

We would like to thank you in advance for all your support to our organisation and our Christmas Book Giving Project.
